ANNOUNCEMENTS

TODAY at 3:10 p.m., all 7^th,8^th, and 9^th grade students will be released to the football field.  This includes all students in class, PE, and track. The Bully Prevention Group will have about a 10 minute program for these students.  Please make note and release your students to the FB field at this time.  Following the program, students will be released for the day.  (track may continue workouts following)  

Athletes who wish to attend the Athletic Banquet scheduled for Friday April 27 should sign up in Mr. Hostert’s office.  Athletes who sign up can attend the banquet free as the Booster Club will pay for your meal if you sign up.  Curt Tomasevics, Olympic Gold Medalist and Nebraska native, will be the guest speaker for the evening.  Parents are invited to attend and tickets can be purchased at the High School office. Last day to sign up is TODAY.

Goofy pictures taken at post-prom are now online!  Go to studiobphotography.com, click on Session, and enter Prom2012 ( with a capital P and no space) for the Session ID to see the photos! 

FFA Butter braid orders and money must be turned in by Monday, April 23rd @ 3:30pm to Ms. Knabe

National Honor Society members:  We have a mandatory meeting Wednesday April 25th at 7:30 am in Rm 222. We will be finalizing our plans for Honors Convocation and choosing speaking and other parts.

Want to make a difference?  Elections for Student Council for next year will be held in May.  To be eligible students must maintain a GPA of 2.0.  The president must be a senior next year and the vice president a junior.  The secretary and treasurer may be a 10th, 11th, or 12 grade student.  The president and vice president run together as a team.  All qualified and interested students are welcome to seek office.   To run for a Student Council office, you must complete a petition with the signatures of 14 students in grades 8-11 and 3 faculty members.  Copies of the petition may be picked up from Allison Depko and must be returned to either Allison or the office by 3:30 pm on Monday, April 30th. 

The following students need to go to the student lounge after 1^st period on Monday for a picture. Congratulations to these students who placed at the NECC Scholastic! And thanks to the teachers who prepared them for the competition! Yearbooks will be for sale Monday-Wednesday, and Friday NEXT WEEK, April 23-25th and April 27th.  This will be the ONLY opportunity this year for those who missed order form day to purchase a yearbook.  Yearbooks are $40 and must be paid in cash or check to OHS at the time of purchase.  Please see Mrs. Gotschall if you have questions.

Musical Cast:  Don’t forget to get your ticket sales turned in to Mrs. Ludwig TODAY.  Also the following students still owe and need to pick up musical t-shirts:  Allison Depko, Mark Vavra, Maranda Winter, Aryn Curry & Connor Peterson.

SENIORS:  Any senior interested in giving a speech at graduation must contact Mrs. Crumly by Monday, April 23^rd.  Be prepared to present her with an idea of what you want your speech to be about.  The class will note on the speakers by majority via an Angel ballot and English teachers will help make the final decision.  ALSO, any senior needing two flowers for baccalaureate please see Mrs. Vosler by Monday, April 23^rd . ALSO, the timeline in the senior hallway will be taken down by Friday. If there is anything you would like to add, please do so before then.

FFA members need to stop by the ag room to sign-up for Meals on Wheels (we will do this April 23-27) and Highway Clean-up (April 27 @ 6:30).

Junior High or High School students interested in taking Driver's Education this summer needs to register by May 1st.  After May 1st the class will be opened up to all students in the O'Neill area until it is full.  The class begins on May 29.  Let Mr. Fernau know ASAP if you would like to take Driver's Ed. this summer.

OPS will be hiring two students again this summer to help with painting and cleaning.  If you are interested see Mr. Brown.
