ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Anyone in grades 10–12 interested in trying out for Drill Team, there is an informational meeting Tuesday, Nov 3rd in Mod 4 @ 3:20.

There will be an “O” club meeting on Thursday October 29 at 11:40 in the lecture hall room.  All 9-12 athletes/cheerleaders who have lettered in a sport and are still current in that sport are eligible. 

Senior girls:  PEO Star Scholarship applications are available at the Guidance Office.  The qualifications are a GPA of 3.0+, excellence in academics, leadership, extracurricular activities, community service and the potential for future success. PEO Star Scholarship amount is $2500.

The following girls still have volleyball uniforms, shorts, or kneepads that need to be checked in to Mrs. Appleby or Mrs. Morrow  
immediately: Francelia Luzania, Tristan Moore, Breanna Ross, Shelby Jennings, Rahtaya Young, Allison Donley, Arianna Dugan, Christine Walton, and Alejandra Vergara.

FCCLA members who ordered t-shirts or sweatshirts please get these paid for and picked up.

Spirit Award Winners for the Pink Out Volleyball game were:  Kelci Ross and Kelsey Timmerman.  Adult was Mindy Zeeb.  The choice was tough – awesome student crowd last night!  Thanks to all for coming out to support the team.

Thanks to all students who passed buckets for the Miracle Minute to benefit the Make a Wish Foundation.  We collected $209.76 and it will be used to makes wishes come true.

There will be a speech team meeting after school TONIGHT in Mr. Mohr's room.  It's still not too late to go out for speech if you haven't been to a meeting yet.   Please Mr. Mohr if you can't make it.

Retake Proofs have been distributed to students in their English Classes.  The orders are due back to the office by Thursday 3:30 PM.  The school is not responsible for late orders, so please be on time!

College Reps here this week are Mid-Plains @1:00 on Wed and Air Force Recruiter @2:00 on Thursday.  See Mr. Fernau for a pass.

If you would like to order a speech team shirt, you can sign up for them before next Wednesday, November 4th out of Mr. Mohr's room.

There will be a short FFA officer and committee chair meeting at the beginning of 4B on Tuesday, November 3rd. Please excuse the following students for the meeting: Shelby Sanford, Brady Wakefield, Tapanga Lihs, Jericho Day, Jewel Krieger, Arron Spangler, Mollie Schindler, Josh Womack, James McCabe, Tony McNutt, and Tasha Lechtenberg.

The next FFA Meeting will be Tuesday, November 3rd. We will leave the high school at 6:45PM to go to the bon fire.  We will be back around 8:30PM. If you need a ride please let Ms. Knabe know by the end of the day Thursday.

A reminder to all students on the ineligible list for this grading period.  You must get a grade average and have all of your teachers sign the white academic progress forms.  Please show the forms to your coaches and then turn them into Mr. Hostert no later than 4 pm on Monday.  Forms can be picked up outside of Mr. Hostert’s office.  The next grading period is on October 30 and a new list will be printed at that time. 

Reminder, Juniors, you are working concessions at the Football game this week. Mrs. G will be posting you is signed up in Room 212.  Your dues must be paid by the end of the week or no dance!

Sophomores: The magazine sales representative will be here at 2:25 on Wednesday before the pep rally to talk about the fund drive and prizes in the Multi-Purpose Room .  Please report there on time.

Juniors/Seniors:  College Reps visiting OHS this week are Black Hill State in Spearfish, South Dakota TODAY at 9 am; University of Nebraska at Kearney on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. and Northeast Community College on Thursday at 1:00 p.m.  See Mr. Fernau or Mrs.  Hull for a pass to visit these reps.

ONE ACT: Remember, we have practice Thursday at 6:45 a.m... last week to memorize!!! We want to start on stage next week!

Sample ballots for Homecoming Royalty are posted at the Guidance Office.  Students in fall activities are eligible.  Please check the ballots, and contact Delight Hull if you feel you are missing from the list.  Deadline is 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Any student who did not pick up their photo proof, please see your English teacher TODAY.  Retakes are at 8:15 Wednesday in the gym for anyone who wants a retake and anyone who missed picture day.  To order your photos, please complete your packet, add payment and take them to the office by the date on the packet.  The school IS NOT responsible for late orders.

The Junior Class will have a meeting at 11:45 next Wednesday, October 7th.  We will announce where the meeting is next week.  ALL Juniors must be in attendance.  If you cannot make it, you must see Mrs. Gotschall ASAP.

Reminder to all FFA Members who have t-shirt design ideas to please submit them to Ms. Knabe ASAP, we will be voting on them at the meeting on Oct 5th.

Picture retakes will be Wed. October 7th at 8:15 on the gym stage.  ANYONE who did not get the picture taken must do this.  Proofs will be back this week.  If you do not like your photo, you may also get a retake done.

NHS members, you voted that you would like a t-shirt but we have no designs submitted yet.  If we are to wear shirts for parent-teacher's conferences, we need to be able to get them ordered.  Get those creative energies flowing!!

STAFF ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Just when you thought you were never going to have to deal with those dreaded inventories again, here is some information concerning them. OPS has contracted with a company called Dok-It Online to better manage the school’s inventory. Everyone who has an inventory will simply log-on to the website to manage their own entries and removals. Information is secure and can be quickly and easily retrieved from any computer with internet access. The goal is to streamline the entire process and eliminate the duplication of your time & ours. The conversion is nearly complete so watch for further information soon.
