FCCLA members remember our banquet TONIGHT at 7:00 in the gym.  Please bring the items listed on the notes on your lockers.  Remember to dress up and this counts as a meeting for those of you who still need a meeting. 

Attention Tuesday book club!  We will be meeting TODAY, instead of Tuesday.  We will be planning our movie night and finishing our discussion of The Monster Calls.  Please plan to attend and bring your books back for check-in. 

Congrat to Liz Wallace for completing the 25 book level of the 100 book challenge.  If you see her in the halls, notice her shirt and congratulate her on her accomplishment.  If you are willing to take on the challenge, too, see Mrs. Crumly

A reminder to all students that fines/missing equipment must be taken care of prior to the end of the year.

Seniors:  Please take the survey titled Seniors, final words for each other on Angel.  It is located in the group Senior class.  Go to your inbox and you will find it.  It is 2 questions long.  Please take this survey for the yearbook.  Let’s make the graduation pages meaningful.  Thanks.

Call all students with jobs during school.  The yearbook is designing a page to feature work study participants.  Students who fall in this category can sign up on the poster on the bulletin board in the senior hallway.  Pictures for this page will be taken on Tuesday, May 1st during 1st period.  Please bring work uniforms that day.

The Yearbook Staff is extending the deadline to purchase a yearbook until WEDNESDAY May 2nd at 3:45 PM.  Any student who did not send payment back to Jostens or did not fill out a yearbook order form back in February may bring their payment to Mrs. Gotschall.  You must bring your EXACT payment in order to reserve your book.  You may place your orders before or after school, or during 2nd, 7th, or 8th period.

We are testing MAPS for 7th, 8th, and 10th grade on May 1, 2, and 3.   It will look like this:

JH students have lunch until 1:00 so testing will look like this (approximately) for 7th and 8th: When 7th, 8th, or 10th test in the morning, they will report to the activities building at  8 am until 11:30   When they test in the afternoon, 7th and 8th will begin at 12:50.  However, 10th grade will begin at 12:00.

All students must take the test.  Please make your best effort to be in school, knowing if you miss, you will be required to miss classes to make up the testing at a later date.

The yearbook staff would like to remind all students that yearbook orders were filled out in English classes back in February.  If you filled one out, you should have received at least 2 bills in the mail by now.  You can simply send your payment with that bill back to the address on the bill. If you DID NOT fill out an order form for one reason or another, you can stop by Mrs. Gotschall's room and order a book, but you must bring your payment with you, as books can not be reserved without it.  The deadline to order your book with Mrs. Gotschall is today by 2:30 PM.

Today is the last Respect Group meeting of the year.  All seniors should report to the library at the beginning of 8th period for a short meeting with Mr. Fernau and Mrs. Crumly.  Your Respect Group leader will be there to give you instructions following your meeting.  Megan Mitchell, Merri Schneider, Camille Ohri, Jamie Lindsay and Shannon Olberding’s groups should meet Mrs. Shane at the office at the beginning of 8th period.  All other students should report to their group meeting places as always.

ATTENTION SENIORS:  There will be an important final meeting of the senior class TODAY at 2:45 in the library.  Be thinking of what music you would like to march out to and if you have any suggestions for the music or sound to play before the ceremony as audience is gathering.  We will also address who will speak for you class.  Mr. Fernau also has some issues to address so please be prompt and ready to efficiently address these final issues.

Congratulations to these five teachers who were nominated by Student Council to be candidates for the "Teacher of the Year" award.  They are:  MRS. PONGRATZ, MRS. CRUMLY, MR. HUNT, MR. PETERSON, and MRS. SCHUETH.  Students in grades 8-12 will vote for one of these teachers during 2nd period on April 24th.   

Any athlete who has not signed up for the athletic banquet needs to do so by noon today if you plan to attend.  Please sign up in Mr. Hostert’s office. 

“O”  club officer meeting at 11:45 today in the lecture hall.  Tyler Knopp, Derrick Hostert, Molly Shane, Kelsey Appleby, Alex Hedlund, Michael Hedlund, and Brock Schueth need to attend.

Congratulations musical cast and crew for two outstanding performances this weekend!  Rave reviews from everyone we meet!  You have made your directors very proud!  Thanks for a great musical season and watch the announcements for the cast party date!

A huge congrats to the Choirs and Bands and all the hard-working soloists and ensembles who competed this last Friday at District Competition in Ainsworth!  Both bands and both choirs as well as many soloists and ensembles received superior ratings!  You represented OHS and O'Neill with pride and professionalism.  You continue to make us proud to be your teachers!

National Honor Society members:  We have a mandatory meeting Wednesday at 7:30 am in Rm 222. We will be finalizing our plans for Honors Convocation and choosing speaking and other parts.

Want to make a difference?  Elections for Student Council for next year will be held in May.  To be eligible students must maintain a GPA of 2.0.  The president must be a senior next year and the vice president a junior.  The secretary and treasurer may be a 10th, 11th, or 12 grade student.  The president and vice president run together as a team.  All qualified and interested students are welcome to seek office.   To run for a Student Council office, you must complete a petition with the signatures of 14 students in grades 8-11 and 3 faculty members.  Copies of the petition may be picked up from Allison Depko and must be returned to either Allison or the office by 3:30 pm on Monday, April 30th.
