Homecoming Week!


ALL AMERICAN HOMECOMING WEEK AT OHS

O’Neill High School will go “All American” this year for Homecoming Week. September 12th - 17th will be filled with many fun activities and events for OHS students and the public.  The week will kick off Sunday afternoon at three o’clock with Homecoming Coronation in the gym followed by Iron Man Volleyball and Powder Puff Football for all students.  The public is invited and encouraged to come help kick off Homecoming Week at this event.  The Booster Club will provide hot dogs and drinks for everyone after the games.

The Student Council will sponsor a Spirit Contest between classes for the week. Classes will compete against each other with points awarded for dress up days, hallway decorating, powder puff football, iron man volleyball, Eagle Olympics and other class spirit competitions.

Monday marks the first dress up day for OHS Homecoming Week.  This year’s dress themes are:  Monday – Farmer Day, Tuesday – Least Favorite College Team Day, Wednesday – Class Colors Day, Thursday – Parents Occupation Day, and Friday – Blue & White Day. 

Students will decorate hallways on Monday evening 6:15 – 8:45 p.m.  The Bon-Fire and Pep Rally will follow at 8:45 p.m. in the HS parking lot.  Coaches and athletes will speak and the cheerleaders will help us get fired up for the week.

Other activities Homecoming Week are Volleyball games at Wagner and the Softball team at Lutheran High NE on Thursday.  The Girls’ Golf team will host the O’Neill Invite on Monday, and the Cross Country Invite will be held on Friday, both at the O’Neill golf course.

On Friday, the Student Council, Booster Club, Cheerleaders, and FCCLA will sponsor a Tailgate Party at 5:00 p.m. at the football field.  We will have spirit beads, face painting, and kids’ games with prizes all at no charge prior to the game against Ainsworth which starts at 7:00 p.m.  The Booster Club will have a Meal Deal of a burger or brat, chips & dessert bar for $3.00.  All O’Neill Public and Ewing
 K-12 students will have FREE ADMISSION to the football game!

The Homecoming dance will be held from 9:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. on Friday and is sponsored by the sophomore class.  Formal Coronation will be held at 11:00 p.m.  The public is welcome and encouraged to attend!
