ANNOUNCEMENTS

Students: Tuesday, May 9th is Honors Convocation at 7:30 pm.  Please check the list outside of Mrs. Ludwig’s office to see if you need to be present.  All students are welcome!!!!

The following Seniors have not picked up and paid for their posters from the gym – the cost is $15:  Please take care of this with Mrs. Ludwig ASAP.  Makenzie Petersen, Ezra Bailey-Kelly, Esteban De La O, Valeria Benavides,  Alonso Franco, Mia Tinsley, Shea Coventry. 

Students in grades 7th-12th grade for the 2017-18 school year, who will either be in a PE class or out for a sport, will need to complete a physical.  Please call your medical provider and set up your physical appointment.  Forms will be available at both O'Neill Clinics.  Physical appointments may be made anytime after May 1, 2017.

XC:  do to the junior high track meet and golf invite on Monday we will have our cross country meeting on Tuesday, May 9th, in Room 214 right after school.  Come and listen.

ONE-ACT CAST AND CREW who have not received your letters, please see Mrs. Langan in the distance learning room 8th period Monday or Tuesday.

The O'Neill Police Department is working to organize a MOCK (NOT REAL) active shooter TRAINING EVENT that will take place right here at OHS on August 15th (2 days before we come back to school in the fall).  This training event needs volunteers and they are requesting students and staff participation.  If you would like to participate as an actor/actress in this training event you can pick up am information packet in Mr. Fisher's office this week.  There is a participation form that you must take home and have a parent sign.  These forms are due back by May 15th (this next Monday).  Again, this is a training event and many volunteers are needed.  This event will not interfere with sports practices that will have started that week for fall sports!  






If anyone is interested in running for Student Council president or vice president, please get an application from Mrs. Troester.  The applications are due by Wednesday, May 10th with speeches on Friday, May 12th at 8:00 A.M.  

If you are interested in running for Secretary or Treasurer of Student Council, come tell Mrs. Troester, and you will be put on the ballot. You don’t have to give a speech. Please let her know by Wednesday, May 10th. 

The executive officers of the Student Council shall consist of a President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer.

IF YOU PLAN TO RUN AS AN EXECUTIVE OFFICER, BRING YOUR LUNCH TO MRS. TROESTER’S ROOM ON WEDNESDAY, MAY 10TH FOR AN INFORMATIVE MEETING. 

QUALIFICATIONS OF OFFICERS:

1.    A student eligible for an executive office on the Student Council must maintain a 2.0 cumulative grade point average and have no permanent failures from the previous semester.
2.    The President must be a Senior and of good moral character.
3.    The Vice-President must be a Senior OR Junior and of good moral character.
4.    The Secretary and Treasurer may be a Sophomore, Junior or Senior and of good moral character.
5.    Cannot be an executive officer in other organizations.

Any student in grades 7-11 that are interested in running for Student Council Class Representative, please sign up in Cheryl’s Office. You will vote for class representatives when you vote for President & Vice President at the end of the school year. Sign up with Mrs. Troester by Wednesday, May 10th. If you are a class representative, you cannot be an executive officer in other organizations.
