ANNOUNCEMENTS

This is National FCCLA Week.  The O'Neill Chapter would like to encourage everyone to join us in celebrating.  Dress-up days are:  Tuesday-Twin Day; Wed. America Day; Friday-Cowboy Day.  Friday morning we will be serving donuts in the student lounge before school.  Also we will be having a competition between first period classrooms to collect items for Love Adelyn. These items will go into patient packets at Children's Hospital in Omaha for children who are hospitalized for long periods of time or their siblings.  Items to donate include  crayons (24 count boxes), markers, construction paper, glue sticks, colored pipe cleaners, foam sheets, or other similar craft type items.  All must be new.  The first period classroom that donates the most things will receive breakfast pizza or donuts next week, their choice.

TONIGHTS SCHEDULE: JV games will start at 5:00 with two gyms being used.  JV girls in the North (Pirate) Gym for 4 qtrs; while at the same time, JV boys will play in the South (Tartan) Gym for 3 eight minute qtrs.  When the girls JV are done in the Pirate Gym the Varsity games will follow. This is parent’s night for their basketball teams. ALSO there will be a benefit for two members of the Plainview staff that are currently undergoing cancer treatments.  There will be a fund raiser going on during the game with baskets and food.

These are the following colleges that are coming this week.  They are mainly focused on the junior class.  Seniors and even sophomores that want to come and listen are welcome to go.  Make sure you inform your teacher a day before that you want to attend.  UNK TODAY @ 9:00 am & Central Community College @ 11:00 am.

Lunchroom News:  Remember Chef is coming tomorrow, February 10.  He will be preparing Shrimp Bowtie Pasta for your dining pleasure. ALSO the winner of the M&M Cup in the lunchroom yesterday was Ethan Fritz – 7th grade.  There were 316 M&M’s in the cup and Ethan guessed 275.  Ethan you may pick up your prize in the lunchroom at your convenience. PLUS we also had 21 lucky tray winners.  Just a reminder that they do expire in a week so the few that didn’t collect their prizes please do so within that time frame.  Thanks to all who ate lunch with us and participated in our prize give away.

MUSICAL CREW - There is a mandatory musical crew meeting after school Wednesday in the music room.  All members of the crew and those who would like to join the crew need to attend.  I will try to keep the meeting short.  We will be planning set work, lighting and sound operation.  If you cannot attend, please contact Mr. Jaques.

SINGING VALENTINES - Valentines Day is coming up fast!  The HS Choir is once again selling Singing Valentines.  Student Valentines are $2 and include a valentine, a chocolate heart, and a song.  Teacher Valentines are $3 and include a valentine, a carnation from Days of Wine & Roses, and at least 1 song.  Community Valentines are $5 and include a valentine, a carnation, and at least 1 song.  Orders will be taken until Feb. 11.  All deliveries will be made on Feb. 12.  You may order from a choir student, Mr. Jaques, or using the following link: http://goo.gl/forms/8YjIklUpFh.  Please make all checks out to: O'Neill Music Boosters.
