ANNOUNCEMENTS

Students:  Please remember to clean out your sports lockers as we will be hosting several activities this weekend at school.

There will be open gym basketball on Monday/Wednesday/Friday of next week.  Monday at 5 pm at the elementary.  The other times will be determined later.

The following cheerleaders will not be able to cheer at the upcoming volleyball game or during the winter season if they do not get their money turned into Mrs. Kelly ASAP! Revel Koehler, Natasha Rowe, Bobbie Walters, Kasey Hoffman, and Morgan Devall.

Attention National Honor Society Members:  Seniors! – We need 2 volunteers to speak at the Veterans Day Program. See the sign-up sheet in Mrs. Pongratz room.  We also need 5 or 6 Juniors/Seniors to hand out programs that morning.

Students planning on participating in a winter sport if you would like additional insurance coverage you may pick up forms from the office.

There will be a full “O” club meeting at 11:50 in the lecture hall on Tuesday Nov. 2.  Anyone who has lettered in athletics or as a cheerleader are eligible to become a member of “O” club.  You may sign up at the meeting or stop by Mr. Hostert’s office.  We will be signing up for “Meals on Wheels” for the week of Nov. 8-12. 

The Blood Drive Bus will be back at OHS on Friday, November 5th , 8:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.  To be eligible to donate you must be at least 16, in good health, weigh at least 110 lbs. and have a photo ID.  You will have a chance to sign up in your English class or see Emily Keyes or Mrs. Hull.  Please consider giving this “Gift of Life”.

Attention Senior girls:  Applications for the PEO STAR Scholarship are available at the Guidance Office.  Successful candidates exhibit excellence in academics, leadership, extracurricular activities, community service and potential for success.  GPA of 3.0 or higher is required, and the scholarship is valued at $2500.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

All Juniors will meet with their small group Respect Groups today at lunch.  Bring your school lunch to the correct room.  If you are not sure which room or group you are in, please check with Mrs. Gottschall or Mr. Mohr. 

FFA - highway clean-up is scheduled for TONIGHT after school.  Meet in the Ag Room at 3:30pm.

TODAY is the last day to order a MAKE-A-WISH t-shirt.  The signup sheet is outside Mrs. Hull’s office, and the order will be placed on Thursday.  All shirts must be paid in advance before ordering.

Any 9-12 students interested in riding a bus to sub district volleyball on Tuesday November 2 should sign up in the student lounge.  There will be a charge of at least $5 per student and you will also need to pay your $4 admission into the game.  The bus will need to be near capacity to make this work.  It appears the Eagles will play Valentine at 6:15 pm on Tuesday, November 2.   Please sign up by Wednesday October 27 at 3pm.  We currently have 18 people signed up we need at least 40

ALL FOOTBALL PLAYERS:  There will be a football meeting at 4:00 in the lecture hall TODAY. After the meeting ALL equipment should be washed and ready for check in. 

There will be a cross country meeting TODAY right after school in Mr. Hilker's room for all high school athletes.  Please bring your uniform and nike sport band.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

HS Band:  The Load/Leave time for the Madison Marching Contest is 1:30 pm.

Book Club is hosting a movie night / pajama party in the library Saturday night from 8-10.  We will be watching To Kill a Mockingbird, and sharing treats: popcorn, brownies, trial mix and anything you might want to bring.  Bring a pillow and join us for the fun.  If you think that you might be able to join us, please let Mrs. Crumly know so that we will have the right amount of food.  Mrs. Crumly

The volleyball game tonight can be heard over the Internet.  The games webstreamed will be O’Neill vs Cedar Catholic, and Wayne vs Cedar Catholic .  This is audio-only (like a radio broadcast), so there is no video.  This is the website www.hartel.net and click on “Listen Live” link in the top right corner.

There is a sign-up sheet for “You Have the Power to Grant a Wish” t-shirts outside Mrs. Hull’s office.  Shirts are $10 and ALL profit from them will be donated to help make wishes come true.  This is a state wide promotion to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
