ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Students attending the athletic banquet please remember to dress up for the banquet and no jeans please.

Any student who is in any activity are welcome to attend the Activity Awards Night – Monday Night @ 6:30 pm

Elections for Student Council officers for next year will be held on May 14th.  To be eligible for an office, students must maintain a GPA of 2.0 and have no failing grades from the previous semester.  The president must be a senior next year, the vice-president a junior, and the secretary and treasurer may be a sophomore, junior or senior.  The president and vice-president will run together as a team.  Prior membership in Student Council is not required to run for an office but is beneficial.  All qualified, willing and interested students who are committed to make our student body the best it can be are welcome to seek office.  See Mrs. Hull for more information.

All boys basketball team members should sign up for summer team camps and pick up a calendar in Mr. Hostert’s office. 

If any high school students are interested in applying for Developing Eagles teacher positions for the upcoming 2010/2011 school year, please stop by the office and pick up an application. 

In all the craziness of the end of the school year, do not forget to send payment for your yearbook!  Each student filled out a pre-order form back in February and should have received statements in the mail to pay for the yearbooks ordered.  Starting NEXT Monday, you may bring your payment to Mrs. Gotschall in Room 212 and she will mark you as paid.  You must bring your statement with you in order to do so.  If you did not order a yearbook and would like to, the cost is $43.00 and you  may order them from Mrs. Gotschall NEXT WEEK ONLY.  Please bring exact change.

All football players:  Many of you still have not turned in your goal sheet or your parent handbook form.  Hand these into either Coach Kallhoff or Coach Brown asap. Those missing one or both of these include Jacob Bennets, Tony Castro, Derek Krieger, Jackson Latzel, Marcus McNichols, Cole Aufdenkamp, Morgan Sterns, Josh Womack, Travis Schmitz, Michael Skopec, Mark Vavra, and Alejandro Vergara.  There is only 12 of you left to do this…. Congratulations to the golf team on their second place finish at the Hartington golf meet.  Blake Bauer finished 2nd with a 73 and Luke Loecker finished 9th with an 83.  Cody Belzer shot a 88, Dalton Jackson shot a 90, and Braden Basaggio shot a 93.

NHS:  There will be a meeting TODAY at 12:10.  You can bring your lunch to the library.  This is a very important meeting where we will plan and assign duties for Honor's Convocation.  You must be present or have talked to Mrs. Crumly if you would like to have an active part.  Please be prompt so we can get all things covered to be prepared for Honor's Convocation. 

FCCLA officers old & new meet with Mrs. Mann over 4C lunch if you can.  See Mrs. Mann if you can’t:  ALSO – Remember our banquet TONIGHT -  Dress up, bring your parents, bring 2 food dishes and your own plates & silverware.  This counts as a meeting.  ALSO – FCCLA members who volunteered to help decorate for the banquet meet in FCS room after school.  Anyone welcome.

NEW ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Spring Activity Pictures are scheduled for tomorrow (Wed.) morning at the high school.  Students should pick up their order envelopes from Mrs. Gotschall in room 212 or may pick them up in the office.  Students should check with their activity sponsor to make sure they bring the proper attire for their photo.  Schedules will be posted in the school on Tuesday.

There will be a photography club meeting on Wed. morning at 7:30.  On the agenda is planning the end of the school year photo safari and discussing their “photo series” projects.

High School Girls Basketball players need to sign-up for the Team Camps they will be able to attend this summer.  Please do so by this Friday.  There is a sign-up sheet posted outside of Mr. Hostert's Office.  Thank you!

National Honor Society:  There will be a meeting on Monday, April 26, at 12:10.  You can bring your lunch to the library.  This is a very important meeting where we will plan and assign duties for Honor's Convocation.  You must be present or have talked to Mrs. Crumly if you would like to have an active part.  Please be prompt so we can get all things covered to be prepared for Honor's Convocation. 

Friday night, the Chairman from Language Department in UNL sent me the result of the Competition.   O'Neill High School Chinese Poster
 " Shanghai" won the 1st place, which was made by Jordyn Johnson, Molly Anson and Yoyo.  Congratulations to the students, and thank you very much for all your support.

REMINDERS

There will be a meeting of the Student Council Lunch committee on Thursday, April 22nd during 4C in Mrs. Mann’s room.  Please bring your lunch and meet there.  Committee members are:  Douglas Stahlecker, Jamie Goldfuss, Molly Shane, Brooke Buller, and Jacob Goldfuss.  See them with your comments or concerns.

There will be a Student Council meeting on Wednesday, April 28th in Mrs. Mann’s room during 4 B&C.  This will be our last full meeting of the year and a very important one.  All members please plan to attend.

OEA is accepting applications for this year's OEA scholarships.  Two or possibly three scholarships will be awarded this year to students who intend to pursue a degree in education.  Applicants are selected based on demonstrated committment to this career.  Applications may be picked up from Mrs. Hull and are due back in her office no later than Friday, April 23rd.

Registration forms for the Summer Driver’s Ed class are available at the Guidance Office.  Classroom sessions will be held May 26, 27 & 28 and June 1 & 2.  Class times are 1:00 – 5:00 pm.

The NSAA is again sponsoring the “Believer and Achievers” for 2010-11.  48 high school seniors will be awarded this and be eligible for one of 8 scholarships.  If you will be a senior next year, meet the gpa, and participate in NSAA activities you are eligible.  Forms can be picked up from the AD or online at nsaahome.org   Entry deadline is July 1, 2010.

 Prom goers, the public (friends and family members) will NOT be allowed in the gym until the doors are unlocked just before the Grand March is ready to begin around 8:15.  Anyone who is not helping with prom should remain outside the gym until they are invited by staff to enter the gym.  This is necessary in order to make a smooth transition to post banquet activities.  Please share this information with your friends and family, it would be a great help to everyone.

Prom Picture Order Envelopes can be picked up in room 212.  You need to call Studio B for an appointment (not during school hours!) and bring your money the night of prom.  Mrs. Gotschall will NOT collect money for these orders.

 Message to ALL Prom goers:  This is a FORMAL event.  EVERY student attending the Prom Banquet, Grand March, or Dance is expected to dress and behave in a manner that reflects the formality of the event.  Students who try to enter Prom who dress or behave inappropriately or in a manner that mocks the event will not be allowed to enter or will be asked to leave.  Let's have a great evening!

OEA is accepting applications for this year's OEA scholarships.  Two or possibly three scholarships will be awarded this year to students who intend to pursue a degree in education.  Applicants are selected based on demonstrated committment to this career.  Applications may be picked up from Mrs. Hull and are due back in her office no later than Friday, April 23rd.

The NSAA is again sponsoring the “Believer and Achievers” for 2010-11.  48 high school seniors will be awarded this and be eligible for one of 8 scholarships.  If you will be a senior next year, meet the gpa, and participate in NSAA activities you are eligible.  Forms can be picked up from the AD or online at nsaahome.org   Entry deadline is July 1, 2010.

Scoliosis screening for 7th & 8th grade students will be Tuesday, April 20 & Wednesday, April 21 during 1st period.  If your parents do not want you to have the scoliosis screening they must call the office or send a note prior to the screening dates.

PROM INFORMATION

Prom goers, you and your date must be signed up for the dance and grand march by noon on Friday.  Please see Mrs. Gotschall if you have not yet done this.  The list will be final at noon.

 Prom goers, the public (friends and family members) will NOT be allowed in the gym until the doors are unlocked just before the Grand March is ready to begin around 8:15.  Anyone who is not helping with prom should remain outside the gym until they are invited by staff to enter the gym.  This is necessary in order to make a smooth transition to post banquet activities.  Please share this information with your friends and family, it would be a great help to everyone.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

There will be an informative football meeting TODAY for all 8th grade through 11th grade in the lecture hall at 3:25.  All track participants should change for practice then plan to meet with your football coaches.

T-shirt and Banquet sign-ups are DUE WEDNESDAY (that is tomorrow) at NOON!  All staff and students EXCEPT seniors must pay their $10 in order to sign up for the banquet and tables.  Many of you have indicated that you are going or that you want a t-shirt, but you have not signed up or paid.  After noon tomorrow, you will not be able to sign up to go and the t-shirt order will be final.
