ANNOUNCEMENTS
Juniors will be having a class meeting TODAY at 2:40 to finalize homecoming decorating plans. Location will be announced later. Attendance will be taken, so please be there.
Freshmen, we will be making posters after school TODAY in Mrs. Fernau's room. Anyone who would like to help is welcome. The more we get done ahead of time, the less hectic the hall decorating will be!
Sophomores will be working on homecoming decorations TODAY after school in the Ag Room. We will work on decorations until 7pm both days.
MAPS TESTING: 8th grade TODAY & 10th on Thursday. Make sure to bring your charged computers.
MANY students have not yet picked up their yearbooks. Please stop in Room 212 AFTER school to get yours. Also, the new personalized books are in please come get yours.
OHS HOMECOMING WEEK - Sept. 25th To Sept. 30, 2011 SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
The theme for Homecoming 2011 is “SAFARI”.
Sunday (Sept. 25th) at 5:00 pm - Iron Man Volleyball; 6:00 pm Power Puff Football; 7:15 pm the Bon Fire . At the conclusion of the Bon Fire, informal Coronation will be conducted announcing the King and Queen for 2011. Booster Club will be selling hot dogs and drinks for this event.
Each day of homecoming week will have a special spirit theme. Students are encouraged to show their school pride by dressing with the theme in mind, (must still follow school dress code). Students who dress-up should go to the gym by 7:50 to be judged. Two males and two females will win each day. Monday- Animal Print Day; Tuesday- Neon Day; Wednesday- Class Colors Day; Thursday- Cowboy Day; Friday- Blue & White Day .
Students in grades 7 – 12 will decorate the halls of the high school on Wednesday, Sept 28th from 12:00-2:00. Student Council will sponsor a fundraiser to raise money to create a mini-student lounge in the library during hall decorating. So bring some one-dollar bills if you want to help the cause. On Wednesday your class sponsors will give you more information about this fundraiser. Look for advertisement in the hallways for this event. 12th- Main Hallway; 11th- 300 Hallway; 10th 200 Hall, East;9th 200 Hall, West; 8th 100 Hall, West; 7th 100 Hall, East.
Eagle Olympics will be held at 2:00 on Wednesday, after hall decorating.
On Friday (Sept. 30th) Student Council, FCCLA, and Cheerleaders will hold a tailgate party starting at 5:00 at the football field. Free prizes, games, face painting, and much more will be available. Booster club will be selling a “meal deal” which includes a hamburger, chips, drink, and a bar. FREE ADMISSION TO ALL K-12 Ewing and O’Neill Students to the football game!
The Homecoming Dance will be held from 9:00 pm – 12:00 on Friday (30th). Formal Coronation will be held at 9:30 pm and the public is welcomed to attend and take pictures.
