ANNOUNCEMENTS:
FFA Meeting Tuesday, December 1st at 7 pm in the ag room.  Officers and committee chairs be there by 6:40.  If you are unable to attend the meeting please see Ms. Knabe for an agenda.

Juniors, we have concessions this Saturday for the Wrestling meet!  Natasha, Revel, Jenni, Bobbi, Danielle, Kelsy F., Brooke, Katie, Paige, Kasey, Sidney, Cody, Daniel, Beau, Blake, Misty, Sheila, Mollie, and Ashlea, you all signed up to work.  The schedule is posted in Mrs. Gotschall's classroom, please make sure you are there on time!

FCCLA Members:  Anyone who could help with the activity at the Evergreen tonight please see Mrs. Mann.

There will be a prom committee meeting over lunch Next Wednesday December 9th.  All prom committee members must be in attendance.

Seniors...very few of you have turned in your head shots and baby ads to the journalism staff for the yearbook.  The deadline for both of these is next Wednesday December 9th.  They MUST be in by 4 PM that day.  Please be responsible about making sure you get this done.  If your photographer is emailing them, it is your responsibility to make sure Mrs. Gotschall has them on time along with your photo waivers.

The Student Councils of OPS and St. Mary’s (grades K-12) have challenged each other to a “Food Fight” to benefit the CNCS Food Pantry.  This Food Drive will run November 30th through December 7th.  The school which donates the highest average # of items for each student and staff member will be declared the “winner” with the true winners being the families helped by this project.  All donations are appreciated!

OHS will have a competition between 4th period (4C for JH) classes for the Food Drive.  The class who donates the most items will win a lunch provided by the Student Council.  The Food Pantry has been hit hard this year with many more families needing help.  The highest donation total for the Jr/Sr High on record is 2456.  Let’s top that with this year’s goal of at least 2500 items.

Juniors and Staff:  A reminder that on Tuesday, December 1st, all Juniors will be taking the ASVAB Test from 8:30 a.m. till around 11:30 
a.m.  Juniors will be dismissed from their 1st period class at 8:20.

The NHS meeting has been rescheduled for December 2nd.  We will eat at 7:30 with the meeting beginning at 7:40.  This is a very important organizational meeting, as we have much to do with Secret Santa sales coming up.  Please be prompt and come with ideas and willingness to help out.  Mrs. Crumly

Thanks to all who helped in any way with the Blood Drive.  53 donors were registered with 42 units of blood collected.  This includes 19 first time donors.  Great job!

Attention students in grades 7-12.  The booster club is inviting all athletes and students, along with your parents, to come and listen to former Husker Aaron Davis speak on TONIGHT at 7:00 pm.  This will be held in conjunction with the annual Winter Sports Kickoff.  Please plan to attend as this will be an hour well spent.  Families of athletes are invited to sit in on practices around 5:15 p.m.  At 6:00 the Booster club will provide a potato soup and chili supper in the commons area.

CONGRATULATIONS to the OHS One-Act team on their Superior rating at the Central 8 Conference One-Act competition. Your performance was hysterical! Big congrats as well to Douglas Stahlecker who was named Best Supporting Actor for the competition. I also want to mention those recognized as Outstanding Performers at the Creighton One-Act Festival on Monday: Amanda Warriner, Douglas Stahlecker, Cody Lorenz, Laura Lueninghoener and TJ Hoke. You have made us proud!

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

The Juniors will have a class meeting on Friday at 11:40 in the library to vote on a prom theme and sign up for prom committee.  If you are going to be gone, please come see Mrs. Gotschall ASAP if you want your vote to be counted.  We will also be picking up any remaining coupon books or money at this time, so have them with you.

Congratulations to both the Mock Trial teams.  Both teams will be in the semi-final competition next Wednesday, November 18th. Mr. Gotschall and Mrs. Paris

HS Band: Great job at the Veterans Day program. You performed very well.

Any Girls that were not at the basketball meeting that would like to go out for basketball please contact Coach Buller today or tomorrow.  Girls basketball team will have an open gym at 3:30 today at the Elementary for any girls that want to come.

There will be a meeting for all NHS members on Tuesday, Nov. 24th.  We will eat at 7:30 with the meeting beginning at 7:40.  This is a very important organizational meeting, as we have much to do with Secret Santa sales coming up.  Please be prompt and come with ideas and willingness to help out.  Mrs. Crumly

There will be a Student Council Lunch Meeting during 4 B&C on Tuesday, November 17th.  All members please plan to attend.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

There will be a meeting for all girls playing girls basketball TODAY at 3:20 in the lecture hall with open gym to follow. 

Vets Program:  Be reminded of the program at SM.  We will leave as a school at 10:15 a.m.  (Program begins at 10:30 a.m.)   If the weather is poor (misty or raining)….we will arrange for busing.  We will walk if weather permits…… Again, please sit with your class as a group….  This usually lasts about 45 min. to an hour….We’ll return to 4th period.

There will be a short FFA officer and committee chair meeting at the beginning of 4B lunch TODAY. The UNL Animal Science Department has put together a recruitment event to give high school juniors and seniors a glimpse of real college life. This event will be November 19th and 20th. The over night stay will include several different activities planned to get the full breath of not only the Department of Animal Science, but the University as well.  This is a FREE program to students which includes staying in campus dorms for one night.
